Obituary

"I'm healed", he said on a very warm and sunny summer day, July 18, 2023, having just enjoyed a wonderful morning on the porch hugging the Pungo River, watching the dolphins and waiting on the eagles. The power of a moment. The brevity of this side of heaven til walking with Jesus.  An instant.

Sterl Dixon "Jack" Paramore was a wonderful father, husband, brother, pastor, and friend. He was a champion for those the Lord gave him. Jack Paramore was born in Winterville, North Carolina, February 26,1936. He was the son of farmers, Snode and Alma Lee Dixon Paramore; brother to S.A., Cecil, Donald, Joyce, Ida Lou, Darwin, and Rebecca. Answering the call to preach at the age of 18, he devoted his life to the Lord's work. Of his accomplishments, he was most proud of his five wonderful children, Sterl (Debi) of Cookeville, Tennessee, Hannah (Bill) of Nashville, Tennessee, Miriam of Nashville, Tennessee, Mandy (Kent) of Burgaw, and Jackie (Jason) of Wilmington. His grandchildren would be his next famed accomplishment, Brian and Brandon, Jason and Hannah Marie, Josh and Sam, Nathan and Mackenzie, and Riley-Grace and Jackson. Surely his great grandchildren will continue his legacy, Vera and Ronin, Jase, Reid, Nora and Ella, Evelinn Pearl, Jackson and Ezekiel.

Jack was an active man. A successful high school athlete, he could also outwork anyone. He loved to travel but mostly he loved to golf and fish and would do either or both on any day the weather would allow. He epitomized faith, love, and gritty perseverance regardless of circumstance. He wanted to love and to celebrate his many loved ones. He cherished time together more than anything else. He is survived by his sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his wife of 45 years, Zenna.  A man of many talents who had a special way to reach people, a quick and keen wit, he will be missed greatly.
