Steven Donald "Bart" Bartie, 54, of Wallace, NC died Monday, January 2, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on June 21, 1962 in Woodbury, New Jersey and was the son of Elva Lizzi Bartie of New Jersey and the late George Joseph Bartie.

Bart was employed as Superintendent for New Hanover County Property Management in Wilmington and attended Kingdom Builders in Wallace.

In addition to his mother, "Bart" is survived by his loving sisters, Holly Scott of New Jersey, Doris Kennedy and husband, Joseph of New Jersey and Vickie Hannah and husband, Carl of Wallace; nephews, Bobby Hannah, Brandon Hannah, Abren Baker, and Scottie Scott; nieces, Angie Baker, Ashley Parker and husband, Curtis, Cameron Scott, Brooklyn Scott, Riley Parker, Hannah Grace Baker and Emma Baker. Also surviving is Aunt Patty, Aunt Barbara and Aunt Gloria and numerous cousins, extended family and friends that loved Bart dearly.

Bart was a loving son and caring brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He was a simple man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. Being a hard worker, Bart enjoyed his job and never complained. He had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need. Bart was caring and generous as well as humble and totally selfless. He was dedicated to his Lord and loved his family and church family dearly. His favorite pastime was playing golf and spending time with his family. Bart will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Kingdom Builders in Wallace with Bart's pastor, Brad Carter officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, one hour prior the service on Monday at Kingdom Builders and other times at Carl and Vickie Hannah's home.
