Steven McArthur Horne, age 53, of Willard passed from his earthy life Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 9, 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of William Horne and Margaret Piepmeyer Horne.

In addition to his parents Steven is survived by his wife, Daniele Brooks Horne; daughter, Meredyth Saieed; son, Devin Horne; grandchildren, Makenlee Jacobs and Kartier Jacobs; sister Maribeth Robinson (Bill); and many extended family and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, R. William "Bill" Horne.

For many years Steven has worked as a carpenter both in residential and commercial building.

He was musically gifted and played his guitar with his whole heart. Fishing was a favored pastime as well as cooking. It has been said that Steven could cook the best pork chops you have ever eaten. With his jovial personality, Steven was a joy to know. Most of all Steven loved his family. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Gardner Eakins will conduct the service.

Burial will follow in Moores Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
