Stuart Donald Glass, 68, of Wallace, North Carolina left this life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from his residence.

He was born on November 10, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York and was the son of the late Irving and Yvette Silverman Glass.

Mr. Glass taught chemistry at Longwood High School in Middle Island, NY. He was a member of Wilmington Area Woodturners Association (WAWA) and Cape Fear Woodcarvers Club.

Surviving is his best friend and wife of 44 years, Helen Dauphinee Glass of the home; sons, Jonathan David Glass and wife, Michelle of Milan, Michigan and Andrew Douglas Glass and wife, Caroline of Leland, North Carolina; grandchildren, Arabella Michelle Glass and Zachary David Glass; brother, Mitchel Glass and wife, Eleanor of New Kensington, Pennsylvania and numerous friends.

Stuart was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother who loved his family dearly. He was a master woodworker, photographer and an avid golfer who enjoyed sharing his talents with others. A man of great integrity, Stuart was kind hearted and a man of his word. He was a lover of all kinds of animals, especially golden retrievers. Stuart was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He will surely be missed but cherished memories of him will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Stuart Glass.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at River Landing Club House with Pot-Luck Reception following.
