Sydney James "Jim" Moore, age 76, of Rocky Point passed peacefully from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home.

He was born December 18, 1933 in Pender County, the son of the late Elbert and Ruby Pridgen Moore. Also remembered is his brother, Elbert "Pete" Moore, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Roberts Moore; daughters, Lisa Harris (Rodney) and Laurie Register (Keith) both of Wilmington, Melissa Lusk of Raleigh and Jackie Killingsworth (Steve) of Thorsby, Alabama; six grandchildren; and sister, Rachel Harrell of Castle Hayne.

Jim served his country honorably in the US Navy. He was retired after 35 years with Royster-Clark Fertilizer Company.

Jim was a devoted husband and loving daddy, granddaddy and brother. He had an amazing sense of humor, loved to laugh and to share his joy in life. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the beauty of all nature in God's beautiful world. Jim will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Riverview Memorial Park with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Monday 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
