Obituary

Sylvia Frazier Meabon, 55, of Oak Island passed peacefully from her earthly life on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 25, 1957 in Alamance County and was the daughter of the late Betty Glenn Frazier Small.

Sylvia is survived by her sons, Nick Meabon of Purcell, OK and Daniel Meabon of Wilmington; father, Stanley S. Frazier and his wife, Denise of Burlington; brothers, Buzzy Frazier (Cindy) of Louisiana and Lynn Small (Elizabeth) of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.

Sylvia taught reading at Wrightsboro Elementary School for many years; a career she loved and performed well, making a difference in her student's lives.

Sylvia loved with all of her heart and her radiant smile brightened the life of everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother and the joy of her life was her sons, Nick and Daniel. Filled with kindness, compassion, joy, and laughter, Sylvia welcomed everyone she met into her wide circle of extended family and friends. Her favorite pastime was arts and crafts which she excelled in, making and sharing many beautiful items. Sylvia was a gift to this world and loved by so many.
