Sylvia Jean Biggs Ryan, 85, of Rocky Point, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Laurels of Pender in Burgaw.

She was born on March 27, 1939, in Lumberton, NC, to the late Eldon and Mable (Hunt) Biggs.

Sylvia enjoyed attending Bob Ross classes where she painted vibrant landscapes, reading Christian novels, watching Charles Stanley sermons, western movies and TV shows, particularly Lone Ranger. She loved to walk on the beach with her beloved dog, Tess.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Carrie Franklin and husband, Troy; her brother, Jerry Biggs; her grandchildren, Sarah Caitlin Ryan, Melissa Leanne Jump, Matthew Ryan Jump; her special nephews, Charlie Ward, Jerry Biggs Jr., Tony Biggs; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Yank" Martin Ryan; her brothers, E.C. Biggs, Thurman Biggs; her sister, Thelma Biggs Norris, Dewey Biggs, James Biggs, J.B. Biggs; and her beloved dog, Tess.
