Obituary

Tamara Howell Duke, 49, of Delco passed gently from this earth to her eternal rest on Friday, April 27, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 11, 1962 in Wilmington, the daughter of Charles Smith Howell, Jr. and Louise Peterson Howell of Delco. In addition to her parents Tamara is survived by her husband of 28 years, Scott Duke; son, Tommy Duke; daughters, Shannon Duke and Tracey Duke; grandson, Brantley Scott DuVall; sisters, Lynn Anderson (Chris) and Debbie Kelly (George) all of Delco and several nephews and many friends.

Tamara loved her family and was the best wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend anyone could ask for. She loved her Chihuahua, "Little D", her cow collection, her beautiful fish aquariums, and going to Topsail Beach and White Lake. With a strong will and steadfast Christian faith, Tamara fought a valiant battle with cancer and was finally healed Friday evening when she went to her heavenly home where there is no pain or cancer; only peace, joy and beauty forever. Always remembered will be Tamara's bright smile, joyous laughter, and love for her Lord and for her dear family.
