Teresa McLaughlin Barnhart, 63, of Rose Hill passed from this life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at her home.

She was born on July 13, 1962 in Bladen County, North Carolina; the daughter of Kenneth McLaughlin and the late Gail Rice King. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother Ellen Petty.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 46 years, Terry Barnhart; her son Patrick Barnhart of Wallace; her grandhildren and apples of her eye Chloe Barnhart, Connor Barnhart and Benjamin Barnhart; siblings Gloria McLaughlin, Lee McLaughlin and wife June, Jane Branch and Beth Wilkins and husband Larry; step mother Billie McLaughlin and numerous extended family and friends that love Teresa dearly.

Teresa was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She was a simple lady who enjoyed the simple things in life such as spending time with her family, shopping and just sitting on her front porch.   Being a great cook, she enjoyed making cakes and cooking delicious dishes for her family.  Teresa loved taking road trips with her grandchildren and spoiling them every way she could. If you were ever in her presence you would always hear about Patrick, Chloe, Connor and Benjamin before you left her.  She was so proud of each of them and she showed it.   Teresa enjoyed going on cruises with Terry where they always had a great time.  All in all, Teresa was a great person who loved others and always put others before herself.  She will surely be missed but never forgotten.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Quinn-Mcgowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Buster Price officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, one hour prior the funeral service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park following the service.

Casketbearers will be Connor Barnhart, Jeremy Tyndall, Anthony Wilkins, Marcus Wilkins, McKinley Rozier and Lee McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
