On December 8, 2023 the world lost a faithful, loving, and beautiful soul, Teresa Ann Atkinson Gray. She was born February 11, 1961 in Bladen County, the daughter of the late David Leon Atkinson and Sarah Woodcock Atkinson.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, John Ivey Gray, Jr.; son, John David Gray and wife, Kelly; daughter, Jessica Gray Corbett and husband, Brent; grandchildren, Evelyn Mary Rose Gray, JD Gray, Hunter Gray, Colby Watson, Chase Watson, Ethan Corbett and Riley Corbett; and one of many dear friends, Teresa Rose Lanier

Many remember Teresa as a dispatcher with Pender County Sheriff Department and Wallace Police Department. Currently she was an administrative associate No.2 with traffic service at NC Department of Transportation.

Teresa was one of those wonderful people whose radiant smile enveloped you along with her warm caring personality. To be in her presence was truly a blessing. Teresa was a  devoted wife, loving mother and MeMaw to her grandchildren. Teresa's passions were "girl's night out" and spending time in the NC mountains. In Mount Airy "Mayberry" Teresa and John were frequent vacationers and were personally recognized at Walker's Soda Fountain and Prudence McCabe Confections (favorite Boston Cream pie). Another favorite mountain stop was Fancy Gap, VA. Teresa's passing leaves a big hole in our family circle and especially in our hearts.

A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev Danny Justice officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
