Terry Clayton Jones

Terry Clayton Jones, 77, of Willard, North Carolina passed from this life to his eternal rest on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

He was born on April 11, 1949, in Pender County; the son of the late Moses Clayton and Mary Cavenaugh Jones. Terry was also preceded in death by his son Bradley Sean Jones.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed with General Electric (GE) as a Radiation Safety Technician for 33 years.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 57 years Freda Proctor Jones of the home; his son Steven Jones and wife Laura Beth; grandchildren Brailey Jones, Haley Jones and Wesley Jones; great grandchildren Niko Jones and Hudson Jones; sisters Brenda Sue West and husband Kenneth of Goldsboro and Thersa Faye Lanier and husband Kenneth of Willard; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Terry dearly.

Terry was a devoted husband and loving father who dedicated his life to his wife and family. He found great joy in the simplest things, but his greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. Terry was a humble, quiet man who tended to his own business and stayed close to home. He enjoyed reading, gem mining, woodworking, gardening and making jewelry. When Terry was younger, he especially enjoyed motorcycle riding. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Riverview Memorial Park with Reverend Chris Jarman officiating.
