Terry Vernon Barnhart, born on October 30, 1961, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, in Wallace, North Carolina, after bravely fighting a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Terry was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Teresa Barnhart, who passed away on May 20, 2026, and by his father, Vernon Barnhart.
He proudly served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Terry is survived by his devoted son, Patrick Barnhart of Wallace, NC and grandchildren, Chloe Barnhart, Connor Barnhart, and Benjamin Barnhart, who brought immense pride and joy to his days. Terry’s guidance, warmth, and steady encouragement will remain with them always as treasured memories.
Terry’s life was defined by quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to those he loved. Throughout his years, he touched the lives of many with his unwavering support and gentle presence. Terry’s journey began in Franklin County, where his early years were shaped by family, community, and a strong sense of responsibility that would stay with him throughout his life. Those who knew Terry will recall a man of integrity and compassion, someone who carried through life's challenges with dignity and resilience. Though the battle he faced in his final years was difficult, Terry met it with courage and grace, never allowing pain to overshadow his love for family. The legacy of Terry Vernon Barnhart will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate to share in his journey. His spirit will live on in the loving bonds he nurtured and the memories held close by his loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Reverend Buster Price officiating. Committal service will be held with military honors immediately following the funeral service at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
