Terry Steven Wood, 71, of Wallace left this life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.

He was born September 5, 1944 in Pender County and was the son of the late Troy W. and Hazel Blanton Wood. He was also predeceased by his brother, Larry Wood.

Terry is survived by his loving daughters, Amanda Wood and Tera J. Wood of Burgaw; grandchildren, Khloe Kerr and Bailey Williams; step-daughters, Sandra S. Caldwell and husband, Tony of Charlotte and Rebecca S. Harvey of Wallace; his brother, Sammy Wood of Willard; sisters, Faye Roberts of Columbia, SC and Nan Hall of Hickory; special friend and mother of his children, Rita Wood of Burgaw and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Terry was a loving father, brother and friend who had a big heart for others. He was "˜country boy' who loved cowboys and westerns. Being a simple man he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Terry loved his family dearly but he especially adored his mother. One of his favorite past times was walking his mother in the garden. He was humble, totally selfless and a "man's man". Terry was a quiet man who is remembered for his kind heart, determined spirit, an enjoyable sense of humor and - loved his family above all else.

A celebration of life for Terry will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Saturday at the funeral home until 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request for donations to be sent to Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, PO Box 339, Wallace, NC 28466 to help with Terry's funeral expenses.
