The Reverend William "Bill" Howard
Grover
April 30, 1933 – February 11, 2012
Rev. William "Bill" Howard Grover, age 78, of Watha passed peacefully from his earthly life to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 30, 1933 in Burlington, New Jersey, the son of the late Blanchard and Edna Faulks Grover. Also remembered is his brother, Roger Grover who preceded Bill in death.
Surviving Bill are his wife of 39 years, Essie Grover; children, Elizabeth Grover Robinson and husband, Derek, of Castle Hayne, Stephen Grover and wife, Elizabeth, of Burgaw, Mark Grover and wife, Rosemary, of Burgaw, and Vickie Sampson and husband, Keith, of Rhome, Texas; three grandchildren; two great granddaughters; sister, Ruth Mehler and husband, William, of Pennsylvania; and brother, Herbert Grover and wife, Linda, of Texas.
Bill was born the son of blueberry farmers. He dedicated his life to his ministry, family, and country serving in the Navy. His evangelical ministry took him from New Jersey to Florida teaching passionately wherever the Lord led. He was dedicated to preaching God's word and ministered wherever he went. Anyone who met him knew his love for the Messiah. His family and friends will always remember the acronyms he used while preaching. His favorite was FIFAR- Faith Is Fact Awaiting Revelation. Hebrews 11:1. In keeping with family tradition his life came full circle at retirement when he moved to Watha to continue what has father started - Growing Blueberries. Rejoice with us as he now walks with his father in the blueberry fields in heaven.
Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Lighthouse Center, 5370 Penderlea Hwy, Watha with R. Richard Dutka and the Rev. Wayne Keene officiating.
