Thomas Edward Gergar, 72, of Hampstead and formerly of Freemansburg, PA, passed from his earthly life Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at his home.

He was born August 19, 1947 in Northampton, PA, the son of the late Frank Gergar and Jane Blear Gergar.

Survivors include a brother, Frank Gergar; and longtime faithful friend and caregiver, George N. Amox, Jr.; good friend, Patricia King; along with his co-workers at Pender EMS & Fire.

Tom served his country honorably in the US Army. He was a career fire fighter in Freemansburg, PA for many years. After moving to Pender, Tom volunteered with Pender EMS & Fire as support staff for over 17 years. For the last 6 years Tom served as an Explorer Advisor for Pender EMS & Fire. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Hampstead Ward.

Tom was dedicated to friends who he cared about. He was rough on the outside, but loving and caring on the inside. "Tom was Tom!"

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
