Thomas Ray Hudson, age 53, of Harrells passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.

Ray was born December 17, 1962 in Sampson County and was the son of James Thomas and Martha Blackburn Hudson of Harrells.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his 3 children; his brother, James Allen Hudson of Maple Hill; his sisters, Linda Cole and husband, Donnie of Clinton and Twylar Harvell and friend, Andrew Burchfield of Harrells; special friend, Stephanie Dykes, also of Harrells and numerous family and friends.

Ray or "Streak" as he was affectionately called, found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was family. He was a hard worker who proudly worked with this daddy for 33 years in the housing construction business. With a big heart and gentle spirit Ray was willing to help anybody in need. He loved to laugh and joke around, making others laugh also. He loved racing, fishing and bluegrass music. Ray will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel followed by the burial at Harrells Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm, one hour prior the service at the funeral home.
