Thomas Issac "Tommy" Johnson, I, age 72, of Delco passed away December 28, 2019.

He was born November 5, 1947 to the late Marvin Curtis and Martha Stancil Johnson. Tommy was the baby of seven kids. He was raised in Willow Springs but lived the last twenty years of his life in Delco, NC. He was a member of Union Grove PFWB Church. Tommy loved his church family, his five children, and his eleven grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, gaining the nickname of "Blueberry Man". One of his favorite things to do was pick butter beans, but he hated to shell them.

Tommy was known for his habit of visiting with his church family and people in his community. These visits will be greatly missed.

Left to remember Tommy are his wife, Vickie Johnson; children, Wendy Little of Fuquay Varina, Thomas Johnson, II, of Knightdale; Regina Carroll and her husband Don of Leland, Gary Sams and his wife Jennifer of Whiteville, and Nina Horrell and her husband Rae of Delco; brother, Raymond Johnson and his wife Jewel of Fuquay Varina; sister Pearl Strickland of Fuquay Varina; grandchildren, Matthew, Gayle, Dylan, Adrian, Raegan, Connor, Hailey, Evan, Hunter, Ally, and Jenna; best friend, Cecil Price; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will see friends 6-8:00 PM Monday, December 30th at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home- Wilmington, NC.

A service in Tommy's memory will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 31st at Union Grove PFWP. Reverend Carey Horrell, Jr. and Reverend Rodney Rose will officiate.

Graveside will follow the services in the church cemetery.

Patsy Smith will officiate.

Pallbearers are Randy King, Phillip King, Kenny Johnson, Rae Horrell and Don Carroll.

Memorial gifts can be made towards the funeral.
