Tressie Mae Daughtrey Moore, 89, of Currie passed gently from her earthly life on Monday, August 3, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 30, 1930 in Pink Hill, the last surviving child of William H. and Agnes Crews Daughtrey. In addition to her parents, Tressie was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Moore; son, Kenneth "Kenny" E. Moore, and her sons-in-law, Primitivo Mandujano and Robert Carroll.
Tressie is survived by her son, James Walter Moore; daughters, Mary M. Carroll, Brenda Williamson (Alan), Emily Wheeler-Martinez (Marshall), Edwina Zuniga (Joel), Sherry Mandujano; daughter-in-law, Patti Jones; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
Tressie was the oldest member of Bear Branch Baptist Church where she had been a faithful member all her life.
Not only was Tressie a beloved wife and wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, but a generous friend to all who knew her. She loved to cook for her family and friends, no one ever left her home hungry. Many moments of pleasure for her were found while gardening her flowers. Cherished treasured memories of Tressie will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Moore Family Cemetery with The Rev. Doug Fairfax and The Rev. Dale Blake conducting the service. Casketbearers will be family and friends.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. there will be a walk by viewing at the cemetery until time of the graveside service.
