Obituary

Luther Robert Moore, age 92, of Ivanhoe died Friday, November 30, 2007 at DaySpring of Wallace.

He was born June 12, 1915 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Richard Henry and Hannah Hill Moore.

Mr. Moore served his country honorably for over twenty years in the US Air Force, serving in WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Surviving are his loving family; his wife, Clara Boney Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Ann Moore; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Tom Prescott and Annette and Terry Applewhite; grandsons, Chris Prescott, Mark Prescott and his wife, Candy, and A. J. Moore; and brother, Stedman Moore and his wife, Laura.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. William Hill Pearsall officiating.

Burial will follow in Malpass Family Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Terry Applewhite, Chris Prescott, Mark Prescott, A. J. Moore, Jerry Boney and James Boney.

The family will receive friends at the Moore residence, Ivanhoe.

The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff of DaySpring of Wallace for the kindness, care and love shown to Luke and to his family during his time there.
