Vada Blanton
English
Jul 29, 1920 — Dec 7, 2012
Vada Blanton English lived ninety-two years of life with great spirit and gusto. She entertained and delighted people throughout the community by singing and playing her harmonica, especially "the old folks" in many nursing homes. She grew great tomatoes, kept a spotless house and dressed immaculately, always preferring the color pink. Her energetic spirit and "˜silliness' will be missed by anyone who knew her, especially the good people of Castle Hayne Baptist Church, and Brenda Graham and Peggy Newell, two of her many Guardian Angels.
Vada is survived by her son Harry S. Warren of Whiteville and the friends he calls family, Martie Bell and Danny Bailey. She is also survived by two sisters, Eileen Fussell and Ann Rivenbark and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Josephine Rackley Blanton and an older sister, Hazel Wood.
Visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Monday with funeral service beginning at 11:00, both at Castle Hayne Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Billy Fowler.
