Veronica \\"Ronnie\\" Sherman Wilson, of San Antonio, Texas, and Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011, in Dallas, Texas where she had hoped to begin treatment for Cholangiocarcinoma, commonly referred to as Bile Duct Cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wilson of Rocky Point; her sons, Clay Wilson and Scot Wilson and his wife, Jeannemarie Wilson; her daughter, Gayle Koscielski and her husband Roger Koscielski along with Ronnie's granddaughters, Shelby Barnard and her husband, Tyler Barnard, and Aubree Vee Koscielski, who is Ronnie's namesake; and her beloved sister-in-law, Jo Ann Kuhn.

Born in Wilmington, NC on September 9, 1938 to the late Mamie and Harvey Sherman of Castle Hayne, Ronnie was an excellent student, seamstress, and prided herself in her baking and church activities. Throughout her life she remained close to her childhood friends and extended family, always remembering birthdays and anniversaries of those she loved, no matter the miles that may have separated them. Ronnie was one of four children, her brothers being H. F. Sherman along with his wife Betty Sherman, and Lowell Sherman along with his wife Charlotte Sherman. Her sister, Sandra Buick, preceded Ronnie in death.

Among countless friends and family Ronnie was known for her kindness and caring heart, her dedication to her children and grandchildren, and her devotion to her Wilmington family. She touched the lives of many people with her smile, trademark sense of humor, and constant positive attitude. Great joy and contagious energy is what Ronnie brought to any room she entered, and her strong morals and integrity will live on forever in her children and grandchildren. Her generosity never wavered, and her selflessness was a testament to her character.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00am at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw, NC. The memorial service will begin immediately after at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with The Rev. Keith Hollar officiating.

Burial will follow in Wilson Family Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Tyler Barnard, Mike Sherman, Seth Sherman, Dale Sutton, David Blevins and Kris Tucker.
