Vicente Santiago Martinez, 47, of St. Helena died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in the community of Independencia in San Juan Mixtepec, Oaxaca in Mexico, the son of Francisco Santiago Reyes and Emiliana Martinez Chaves.

Vicente is survived by his loving family; his wife, Virginia Hernandez Santiago; his children, Javier Santiago Hernandez, Lorena Santiago Hernandez and Guatemoc Santiago Hernandez; brothers; sisters; nephews; nieces; extended family any many friends.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2011 at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church with Father John A. Gonzales officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in San Juan Mixtepec, Oaxnoa in Mexico.
