Virginia Lee House Cook, age 60, of Wilmington died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born on January 20, 1952 in New Hanover County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Virginia Wells House. She was also predeceased by her brother, Hammie House.

Mrs. Cook was a member of Pine Valley Church of God.

Surviving are her devoted husband of 37 years, Fonzo Cook of the home; her children, Christopher Claude Cook of Wilmington, Melissa Cook Grubb and husband, John of Greensboro and Mary Cook of Wilmington; granddaughter, Carra Elizabeth Grubb; brother, Timothy Mack House and wife, Gina of Rocky Point; nieces, Samantha and Traci House and numerous family members and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Bradley Creek Chapel with the Reverend Andy Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Bradley Creek Chapel.

Virginia loved to laugh and spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter who was the apple of her eye. She was a mother to all and the "Rock" that everyone could lean on for comfort and support. Virginia will truly be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved and knew her.
