Virginia Oxendine Liles, 81, of Brunswick Forest, Leland, North Carolina passed away on Monday May 25, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

She was born on January 2, 1945, in Robeson County, North Carolina, to the late Hilton Oxendine and the Christine Hunt Oxendine.

Virginia moved to Pine Knoll Shores to Leland seven years ago. She and Bill loved the coastal restaurants and food of the area along with the shopping- Virginia was a Cosco shopping fan! Her love for food lead her to be a great cook in her own right and she was a "Professional Homemaker". Their love of travel was conveyed in the many treasures of their home, each with a story of its origin and Bill's bargaining skills. Virginia loved her family, especially those grandchildren and great grands. Her wish was to provide a legacy for her family- goal achieved.

Virginia is survived by her son, Calvin Liles; her daughter, Bonnie Johnson (Paul); her brothers, Donald B. Oxendine (Tina), Hilton Oxendine, Jr. (Lucille); her sister, Jo Ann Oxendine (Edward); her grandchildren, Jessica Couch, Nicholas Johnson, Ashley White, Christine Liles; great grandchildren, Dylan Vaughn, Bailey Berryhill, Brynleigh Couch, Hudson White; great great grandchildren, Asher Vaughn; nieces and nephews, Celisa O. Hunt (Jonathan), Christopher J. Oxendine (Melinda), Stephanie Locklear, Anita Locklear, Jamie Locklear (Tabitha);her great nephew, Christon Hunt (Peyton); and a special cousin, Maxine Hammond.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Liles; and her daughter, Gwendolyn H. Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare .
