A kind and gentle soul, a gracious and loving lady, God's faithful servant was called to her heavenly home by the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was born in Pender County October 30, 1942 to Richard Atkinson Sidbury and Annie Laurie Dowless Sidbury, living most all of her wonderful life in the Sloop Point  community of Hampstead.

Swinson, Sr.; son, Robert "Robbie" Swinson; daughter, Lynn Gideon and husband, Todd; grandchildren, Greyson Swinson, Chesnee Swinson and Mason Gideon; sister, Marsha Spiller and husband, Warren; brother, Rex Sidbury and his wife, Andrea; and many extended family and friends.

Virginia was a devoted longtime member of Blakes Chapel Advent Christian Church where she served as pianist for many, many years. Her love and gift of music was unmatched.

Virginia's journey on this earth was a life well lived. Her years were filled with an abiding love for the Lord, time spent with family that she adored, and by giving freely of her time and musical talent. Though cancer would rob us of more time with Virginia on earth her graciousness, kindness, warm heart and sweet spirit are a lasting legacy that will continue on among those who knew and loved her. Virginia was truly an instrument of God's love on this earth.
