Violet Grafton Crumpler Batchelor, age 83, of Watha died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at her residence.

Mrs. Batchelor was born May 9, 1926 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late William Berkeley and Grace Murray Crumpler. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Elsie Foy and Carlene Lanier.

Surviving are her loving husband, Sherman Batchelor of the home; her devoted children, Ellen Batchelor of Watha and Avery Batchelor of Wallace and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 11:00 am Friday, July 17, 2009 at Crumpler Family Cemetery in Watha with Mr. Ernest Patterson officiating.
