Vonnie May Rose McLamb Knight, age 89, of Hampstead and formerly of Fayetteville passed away quietly Monday, May 3, 2010 at Woodbury Wellness Center in Hampstead with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Knight was born June 4, 1920 in Wilmington, Delaware and was the daughter of the late Arthur Whitney and Claudia May Lee Rose of Johnston County, NC. She was predeceased by her husbands, Gordon L. McLamb who was killed in a trucking accident in June of 1954 and in 1959 she married, Dr. Richard G. Knight, DVM, who died in 2005.

Surviving are her loving children, Laurie A. Knight Belangia and husband, David, of Greenville, Joel R. Knight and wife, Lea Ann, of Hampstead, David L. McLamb and wife, Judith, of Laurinburg, Michael W. McLamb and wife, Deborah, of Greenville; four grandchildren, Dara Rose McLamb Dimitri and husband, Mike, Aaron David McLamb and wife, Gina Feliciano McLamb, Daniel Joel Knight and Cory Richard Raymond Knight, and four great grandchildren, Claudia Rose Dimitri, Stephen David Dimitri, Dominic Michael Dimitri and Gavin Andrew McLamb.

Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 212 Futch Creek Road, Wilmington, NC 28411, with Nolan Wiggins officiating.
