William Hobson Bennett, age 87, was born on September 30, 1925 and died December 26, 2012 in Wilmington, NC.

In loving memory Hobson Bennett is survived by his wife of 66 years - Gloria S. Bennett, daughter Alison Gunti and her husband Ray Gunti, daughter Susan B. Parnell and her husband Ed Parnell. His grandchildren are Charlotte Franklin, Charlie Gunti, Candy Marcotte, Dennis Hobson Rhodes, Arthur Rhodes, Harrison Parnell. His great grandchildren are Caroline Franklin, Lauren Franklin, Anna Kate Franklin, Ben Gunti, James Gunti, Sophia Marcotte, Hobson Rhodes and Aaron Rhodes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 4:00pm in the Bradley Creek Chapel at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home at 315 Willow Woods Drive. The officiating clergy is Pastor Will Oosthuizen from the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

William Hobson Bennett served in the military in World War II as aerial photographer mate 2nd class V6 US Navy.

He worked at the ACL railroad beginning February 1, 1947 until he retired on October 31, 1985 as district sales manager of CSX railroad.
