Walter Clayton Heath, age 66, of Wallace died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Heath was born June 2, 1941 in Lenoir County and was the son of the late Walter and Lillie Belle Sanderson Heath. He was predeceased by his step-son, Joe Eddie Wood in 2006.

Surviving are his devoted wife of twenty-six years, Shelby Lanier Heath of the home; sons, Bobby Heath and Wayne Heath, both of Hampton, VA; one granddaughter; step children, Marty Wood of Wallace, Timmy Wood and wife, Mira Jo of Fountaintown, Beverly Jones and husband, Paul of Willard and Anita Beddard of Wallace; step-grandchildren, Ashley Jones and wife, Lisa, April Jones and Kevin Wood; three step great grandchildren; brothers, Edward Earl Heath and Danny Heath, both of Goldsboro and sister, Hazel Moody of Deep Run.
