Wayne Edward Blanton, age 83, passed away peacefully at NorthChase Nursing Facility in Wilmington, NC on Monday, January 16, 2023. He  was born on November 26, 1939,  a native of Pender County who grew up in a little community known as Watha, NC. Wayne was the son of the late Ernest and Lacy Blanton. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Virginia;  daughter, Brenda Arlene Blanton; three brothers, Roy, Jimmy, and Steve Blanton; and two sisters Mary Hardin and Rachael Croom.

Wayne was a generous man who helped many people that he came in contact with. He was an excellent carpenter by trade who loved and supported his family. Wayne was a man who lived by the motto, "If you can't say something nice, stay silent". Wayne was a man who loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Wayne is survived by his three children, daughter, Debbie Blanton, sons John Blanton, and Barry Blanton and his wife, Lisa; four grandchildren, Kevin Blanton, Tony Murray and wife, Samantha, Brandon Blanton, and Michael Blanton; eight greatgrandchildren; one great greatgrandchild; sister, Faye Rivenbark; brother, Carson Blanton; and many extended family and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Riverview Memorial Park with The Rev. David Knowles conducting the service. Everyone is welcome to come.
