Wilbur “Will” Franklin
Daub, Sr.
Jun 4, 1939 — Apr 5, 2016
Wilbur "Will" Franklin Daub, Sr., 76, of Wallace passed peacefully from his earthly life on April 5, 2016 at home with his devoted wife by his side.
He was born June 4, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of the late Paul and Mae Krumbine Daub.
Will is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nettie Wells Daub; son, Wilbur F. Daub, Jr. (Theresa Ross); and many extended family and true friends.
Will was a graduate of Penn State University and retired after working 35 years with Federal Regulatory Energy Commission in Washington, DC.
Most important in Will's life was his beloved family. He also enjoyed antique vehicles and his very own special 1962 Thunderbird. He was a deep thinking, quiet man with a gentle smile and caring manner. Will's passing leaves an empty place at our family table and in our hearts.
Visiting with the family will be 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon at Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum with The Rev. Dean Walker officiating.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that you consider a memorial gift to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401. For almost one year hospice has been a supportive group of caregivers that has meant the world to Will and Nettie, enabling Will to remain in the comfort and peace of his own home.
