Obituary

William Frazier "Junior" Chadwick, Jr., age 84, of Burgaw died Friday, November 20, 2009 at his home.

He was born September 11, 1925 in Pender County, one of eleven children to William Frazier Chadwick, Sr. and Myrtle Parker Chadwick. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Henderson Chadwick; sisters, Lula Guilford, Lena Lanier and Hattie Caison and brothers, Hamilton Chadwick, William Ira Chadwick, King Chadwick and Perry Chadwick.

Surviving are his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Herschel Teachey of Rose Hill; grandson, Eric Teachey of Rose Hill; sisters, Norma Pridgen of Burgaw, Annie Sleigher of Hampton, Virginia, and Frances York of Carmel, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chadwick served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict earning the rank of Sergeant. His career as an expert meat cutter working in several local grocery stores spanned many years. He was a member of Burgaw Holiness Church.

Junior loved his family more than words can express; he was the best husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend. His strong, abiding faith and love of God was evident in the life he lived. Listening to Christian music, working, mowing grass and shoveling God's earth were some of Junior's favorite pastimes. His soft spoken voice, warm heart and gentle nature will always be remembered.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Keith Rivenbark officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Casketbearers will be Adam Ajeen, Mike Ajeen, Dwight Teachey, Bob Sleigher, Gary Pridgen, and Ivey Pridgen, Jr.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service; 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
