William David Watson, 54, of Watha left this life for his eternal rest on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from Duke University Hospital.

David was born on July 21, 1961 in the Philippines to Gloria Jean Teachey Watson of Watha and the late William W. Watson. He was also predeceased by his sister, Cindy Hall.

David was a devoted husband and caring father, son and brother. He was a simple man who was the happiest when he was doing simple things like working in his garden, walking around on the farm, and spending time with his family. He also loved animals. With a great sense of humor and an upbeat personality, David was loved by everyone who knew him. Most of all, he loved the Lord and lived a life that portrayed the love of Christ to those around him. David was a friend to everyone but there was no one like his "Mama" in his sight. She was the BEST and he didn't care who knew it. David will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Lola H.Watson of the home and son, William Thomas "Tommy" Watson of Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Illinois; sister, Sharon W. Rivenbark and husband, Jeff of Rose Hill and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, May 27, 2016 at The Church of God, 309 Rockfish Street (Airport Road) in Wallace. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church until 9:00pm.
