William Allan Futch, 60, of Burgaw passed peacefully from his earthly life on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 7, 1953 in Pender County and was the son of the late Archie Clarence and Cora Lee Morgan Futch. Also remembered is Allan's sister, Betty Goldston and brother, Porter Futch, both who preceded Allan in death.

Allan is survived by his daughters, Cora Charlynn Horton (Mark) and Shannon Futch all of Burgaw; grandchildren, Pasco Ray Horton, Zellie Horton, and Sophia Grace Hayes; sisters, Jeannette McLean of Wilmington, Wanda Futch (Leigh) of Burgaw and Claire Ramsey (Louis) of Rocky Point; brother, C. D. Futch (Peggy) of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Joyce Futch of Rocky Point; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Allan was a professional truck driver by choice and career. He loved his family and they loved and cared for him in return, especially during the last ten years during his lengthy illness. Prior to Allan's accident he was a true friend to many, caring for both family and neighbors. Loving all of God's nature in the beautiful outdoors, Allan, in past years truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Cherished memories of Allan will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with The Rev. Dr. Ray Mendenhall officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 or to the charity of your choice.

With grateful hearts, Allan's family extends their sincere appreciation for the love, the care, the compassion that Allan received from the wonderful staff on the skilled nursing unit at Pender Memorial Hospital.
