William A. Long, Jr's Obituary
William A. Long, Jr (Billy) 72 of Wilmington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 17, 2015.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents William Ardell Long, Sr and Lillie Dell Pope, siblings Charlotte Long Guyton, Betsy Long Rivenbark and Gloria Fay Long Williams.
He is survived by his wife Loyce Flake Long, daughter Wanda Lanette Long, step daughter Patricia Flake Thornton (Danny), sister Margaret Long Piner, grandchildren Amber Shipman Simpson, Whitney Lanette Shipman, Brenlee Flake Thornton, and one great grandson Jaiden Travis Simpson.
Billy was a member of Sunset Park Baptist Church, owned Long Auto Sales, and was a car upholsterer, but his greatest passion was witnessing and sharing his love for the Lord. He volunteered at the Cape Fear Rescue Mission.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 Monday, July 20, 2015 at Sunset Park Baptist Church where a funeral will begin at 1PM. Burial in Moore's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Currie.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Elderhaus Pace Program.
