William "Bill" Dixon
Pridgen
Sep 7, 1941 — Oct 30, 2013
William "Bill" Dixon Pridgen, 72, of Currie passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Wednesday, October 30,2013 at his home.
He was born September 7, 1941 in Pender County, the son of the late Gordon and Olivia Pridgen. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Bill is survived by his wife of nine years, Sharon Bolton Pridgen; daughters, Tammy Blinick and Connie Cerne (Roger); step-children, Anna Hatfield (Mitchell) and Franklin Reynolds (Amanda); grandchildren, Bina Cerne, Spencer Tackett, Joshua Tackett and Tammy's children; sister, Jo Ann Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill served his country honorably in the US Air Force. He attended United Faith Fellowship.
Bill was a man of great character who loved and enjoyed life. His hardy laughter, spontaneous burst of singing, and zeal in all he undertook will be missed. Being a carpenter by trade, one of passions in life was woodworking. He made and shared many beautiful hand hued items. Always a good neighbor and friend, Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand and share what he had. No one ever remained a stranger when meeting up with Bill. He was a whistler and you knew Bill was coming when you heard his famous whistle. Most important, when the Christian hook sunk into Bill his life was anchored in Jesus Christ. He was a minister of the Word and founder of Helping Hands Ministry of Pender. Cherished memories of Bill will forever remain in our hearts.
