William Anthony "Tony" Richardson, 70, of Burgaw passed gently into his eternal rest on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 28, 1950 in Wilmington, the son of Roland Grady Richardson and Durema Gurganious Richardson.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Amy Richardson; brothers, Grady Richardson, Sr. (Ellen), Randy Richardson, and Heide Richardson (Lisa Croom); many extended family, and friends.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club. Tony served his country honorable in the US Navy.

Tony was a people person, had a fabulous personality, was always telling funny stories, and according to his family was fluent in sarcasm. He loved the outdoors; fishing clamming, mowing grass, grilling, and a good old oyster roast. There was nothing Tony enjoyed more than burning a pile of yard debris, cranking up the grill, and playing the radio loud and clear. Tony loved and cherished his family and his many, many friends.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw with Pastor Rick Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
