Willie Herbert Wheeler, Jr., age 65, of Wallace passed peacefully from his earthly life Monday, November 11, 2019 at NorthChase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington.

He was born June 20, 1954 in Pender County, the son of the late Willie Herbert Wheeler, Sr. and Isabell Turner Wheeler.

Willie is survived by his sisters, Ruth Mott and husband, Donald, Peggy Newkirk and husband, Donald, and Joyce Parker and husband, Randy; brother, Charles Wheeler and wife, Joan; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Willie enjoyed the simple things in life; fishing in God's beautiful water ways, working as a mechanic with his brother-in-law, Randy, and just being outdoors in all of God's wonderful world of nature. His love, pride and joy was his dog, Bella. Most of all Willie loved his family and appreciated all the special things that they did for him through the years. Willie was loved and will be missed.
