Obituary

Wilma Carroll Teachey Cantrell, age 72, left his life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from Vidant Duplin Hospital.

She was born on April 18, 1944 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Carl and Pearl Savage Teachey. She is also predeceased by her devoted husbands, Ever Lee Sholar, Charles Ezzell and Earl Cantrell; her daughter, Susan Carol Long and brothers, Robert and Gerald Teachey.

Wilma is survived by her loving son, Johnny Sholar of Chinquapin, granddaughter, Kelsey Long and fiancé, Andrew Young of Holden Beach; grandson, Eric Cavenaugh and wife, Fran of Clinton, SC; great grandchildren, Devin and Kevin Jernigan and Abby Cavenaugh; sister, Hilda Raynor of Wallace; sisters-in-law, Linda Teachey of Wallace and Linda Teachey of Mt. Olive; niece Sylvia Brown and husband, Don of Beulaville and Anita Ezzell of Turkey and extended family and friends that loved Wilma dearly.

Wilma was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and aunt who loved her family deeply. Her favorite food was fish and she enjoyed going to restaurants that served fish. With a heart of gold and a humble spirit, Wilma did not want to be a burden to anyone. She loved people and enjoyed socializing with her neighbors when her health permitted. She was a quiet person who was kind, good hearted and selfless. Wilma will surely be missed but fond memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Wilma.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Pate Cemetery in Mt. Olive.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service on Friday and other times at the home of Don and Sylvia Brown.
