Zachary Edward Bruns, 18, of Currie passed from his earthly life on Monday, February 10, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 31, 1995 in Pender County and was the son of Kenneth B. Bruns of Currie and the late Linda Joyce Hammond Bruns.

Zach is survived by his father, Kenneth Benjamin Bruns and his wife, Pamela "Pam" Bruns; brother, Matthew Bruns (Sylvia) and David Bruns (Tracey); sisters, Rebecca Everett (Jeremiah) and Abigale Bruns (Roger); three nieces and five nephews; step-brothers, Jeff Garcia (Jennifer), Jason Garcia (Tami), and Brandon Garcia (Jessica); step-sisters, Devra Fleming (Mitch) and Natasha Caple (Brian); and eleven step-nieces and nephews.

Zach loved his family and his friends in his own special way. Currently Zach was working with his dad in the home repair business and he had recently purchased his own car of which he was so proud. Zach's smile, his laughter, his giving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 1 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Bruns residence, 682 Rivenbark Road, Currie.
