Obituary

Alphonse R. Paquette, 80, of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life Saturday, January 15, 2022 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 28, 1941 in Littleton, NH, the son of Alphonse and Ada Aubrey Paquette. In addition to his parents Al was preceded in death by a son, Chris Jones; sister, Francine Mitchell; and brother, Bruce Paquette.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 36 blessed and wonderful years, Rosa Lee Blanton Paquette; children, Jackie Butler (Dale), Raymond Paquette (Donita), Duane Paquette (Charlotte), Sherry Linquest (David), and Ricky Jones (Tamra); brother, Wayne Paquette (Mary); 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Al served his country honorably in the US Army, participating in the Vietnam War and Al was very proud of receiving a Parachute Badge. Following his military service, Al worked and retired as a serviceman with Sears. Al then took a job he truly enjoyed, a driver of the activity bus for Cape Fear Academy in Wilmington. First and foremost, Al was a dedicated Christian and a faithful member of Long Creek Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. He was a member of Columbia Hunting Club.

Also, Al made time for hunting, fishing, telling an entertaining story, and being with his family that he so adored. The life he lived was an excellent Christian role model for others. He was community oriented and always willing to help wherever he was needed. Al was loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Long Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Thurston conducting the service. Committal and burial will follow in Malpass Memorial Cemetery at Long Creek Baptist.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal service.
