Barry Glenn Davis, age 55, of Teachey, unexpectantly left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
He was born on February 11, 1967, in Duplin County and was the son of Marie Hatcher Davis of Wallace and the late Tommie Davis. Barry was also preceded in death by his brother, Karl Davis; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Davis;and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hatcher.
Barry served his country for 10 years in the US Army.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his son, William Davis of Chinquapin; his brother, Robert “Robbie” Davis of Rose Hill; sister, Tom-Marie Davis and special friend Nicky Jerosimich of Teachey; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Barry dearly.
Barry was a loving father and caring son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed the simple things in life, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, and especially with William. During his growing up years, Barry was very involved in Boy Scouts and after much training, discipline and dedication, he became an Eagle Scout. Barry was a good son and loved his mother dearly. He was always looking after her, making sure she had what she needed. He was her “weed-eater” as long as his health permitted. With a witty personality, Barry was very interesting to listen to, and you never knew what he was going to say. Barry and William enjoyed their time together whether it was watching TV together or discussing wrestling. Barry enjoyed going to knife shows and collecting knives. Most of all, he loved his family with all his heart and would do anything he could for each of them. Barry will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
