Benjamin Julian Gallop, 80, beloved husband, daddy, granddaddy, great grandaddy, brother, and loyal friend departed his earthly life Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his home surrounded with love and prayer by his devoted family.
He was born March 2, 1941 in Rumford, Maine to Richard Alfred Gallop and Evelyn Young Gallop. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Victoria Gallop; sons, Benjamin David “Bubba” Gallop and Jarvis Gallop; sister, Joyce Longley; and brothers, Stephen and Richard Gallop.
Benjamin is survived by his wife of 63 years. Mary Anderson Gallop; daughter, Jennifer DeLacerda (Michael); grandchildren, Alicia Wells (Kevin), Candace Welborn (Kevin), Amanda Pigford (Corey), Blake DeLacerda and Kevin Perron; great grandchildren, Austin Gaskins, Tori Wells, Kristina Wells, Tanaleigh Smith, Jackson Welborn, Henry Welborn, Ashton Pigford, Tristan Pigford, Braxton Pigford, Jayden Norris, Lillyanna DeLacerda, Paislyn Ramsey, Kinsley Foy, and Hunter Perron; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Benjamin served his country honorably in the US Army..
Benjamin lived his life with kindness and strength beyond measure, seeing each day as a gift. His primary passions were his Christian faith, his loving family and, of course, a day of fishing. His presence in our family circle will surely be missed.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor George Kapusta will conduct the service.
Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
Casketbearers will be Michael DeLacerda, Blake DeLacerda, Kevin Welborn, Austin Gaskins, Kevin Wells, and Corey Pigford. Honorary bearers will be Stephanie Gurganious and Austin Kelly.
