After a long, hard working and fruitful life, Benjamin “Bennie” Pierce Justice, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 21, 2024, at home in the care of his loving family.
He was born August 20, 1940, in Pender County, the son of Isham Albert Justice and Thelma Ray Morgan Justice. In addition to his parents Bennie was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Justice; stepsons, Jeffery Watts and Tab Watts; brothers, Raymond Justice and Stephen “SD” Justice; sisters, Eva Sykes and Ola Bell Justice; and fiancée, Alice Copenhaver.
Bennie leaves a cherished family, his nephews, John Justice, Albert Sykes, and Raymond Justice, Jr. (Angela); nieces, Tina Justice Taylor (Douglas), Stephanie Justice Corbett (John), and Karen Pepper (Christopher); sister-in-law, Melrose Justice; and many extended family members and true friends.
Being a patriotic man, Bennie was so proud to have served his country in the US Army.
Bennie was a diligent roofer and was owner of Justice Roofing for over 50 years. He was a charter member and organizer of Pender County Bass Masters. It is noted that Bennie was a master fisherman which was evidenced by his many fishing trophies.
Being a man of integrity and admirable character, Bennie was always looking after the needs of others. He enjoyed all of God’s bountiful nature - “his” river, trees, sunshine, bright night moons, beautiful river sunsets, and animals. Family was of the utmost importance to Bennie, and he loved family gatherings. Bennie’s presence in our lives will truly be missed.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service. The Rev. Rudy Shepard will conduct the service.
The burial will follow in Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery.
