Betty Peterson Dale, age 95, of Wallace, North Carolina passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
She was born November 6, 1929, in Duplin County, the daughter of the late Walter Challie Peterson and Vera Giddeons Peterson. Mrs. Dale was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Warren Dale and her sister Mabel Ray Peterson Strickland.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, Randy Dale and his wife Kay of Wallace and Dexter Dale and his wife Celeste of Wilmington; grandchildren, Chris Dale and wife Kelly, Matt Dale and wife Kristen, Scott Dale, and Carmen Piner and husband Brandon; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Dale and wife Samantha, Nathan Dale, Gianna Dale, Hannah Grace Dixon, Emily Piner, Carleigh Piner and Ellie Piner; great- great grandchildren, Huxtyn Brown and Addie Dale; sisters, Avis Powell of Watha and Annette Murray of Harrells; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Betty was a loving mother and caring grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, “an instrument of God’s love on this earth”. Betty graduated from Franklin High School in 1948. Later she married the love of her life, Warren Dale, and had two wonderful sons. She was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. Her home was the holiday gathering place for family. She was a lady of fashion and always dressed impeccably. She was a lover of the outdoors and took great pride in keeping her yard beautiful. You could most likely find her feeding the birds and always with a dog or cat at her side. She was blessed and stayed active through the years. Betty will be remembered for her generous nature, her love for family and friends and her steadfast faith in God.
