Beverley Elaine Sherman

Beverley Elaine Sherman, age 94, of Wilmington, NC passed away on August 28, 2023 at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, NC.

She was born on May 11, 1929 in Kalamazoo, MI to the late Herman Harmens and Beatrice Bigelow Harmens.

Beverley was a long-time member of Westwood Church of God in Kalamazoo, MI where she served at the nursery and helped wherever needed. She also played Golf and Bowling in the Church League. Beverly also worked at The Blossom Shop and Cork Lane Decorating Center in MI. Later, she was a member of Valley Family Church (VFC) in Portage, MI, where she worked at The VFC Thrift Store, where she was known as “Back Room Bev” and she also handed out groceries on “Friday Groceries Day.” Beverly would do anything for others and anything to help from driving people to appointments or doing someone’s laundry for them at home. She was also well known for her zucchini bread and apple pie squares. Most of all, Beverly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Beverley is survived by her daughter, Jacqualyn Greene; grandchildren, Cristy Greene, Josh R. Greene (Kristen), and Amy Bonney (Dave); and great-grandchildren, Lucy Bonney, Noah Greene, Josie Greene, Molly Bonney, Annie Greene, and Luke Greene.

Beverley was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Sherman; and sister, Sherry Stevens.
