Billy Mack Pender

     Billy Mack Pender, age 65, passed peacefully from his earthly life Friday, January 27, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

     He was born August 4, 1957 in Wilmington, the son of  Artis Mack Pender and Mazzelie Brown Pender. In addition to his mother, Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbi Pender.

     In addition to his father Billy is survived by Donna Faye Johnson; son, Mark Dale Pender, Jr.; three step children; several grandchildren; brothers, Jack Pender (Lynn) and Mark Dale Pender; many nieces, nephews and friends.

     Billy’s career as a lineman working for several electric power installation companies spanned many years.

     Billy Mack was a kind and generous man who loved family. Being outdoors in all of God’s beautiful and bountiful nature was something Billy truly enjoyed. There was nothing more relaxing for Billy than hopping on his tractor tilling his garden, hunting in the woods, or fishing in Black River.  Believe it or not Billy was a clean bug when it came to house keeping and could and did cook outstanding delicious meals. He was a big presence in our lives and will be greatly missed.

      The family will receive friends 4 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.

     Graveside funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023 at Riverview Memorial Park with Rev. Regina Norris conducting the service.
