Bobby Teachey

Bobby Teachey, age 80, of Rose Hill, North Carolina left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

He was born on February 17, 1943 in Wilmington, North Carolina and was the son of the late James C. Teachey and the late Rebecca Casteen Hopkins.

Mr. Teachey proudly served his country in the United States Army and later joined the US National Guard where he served for six years.  During his time in the army, he was a part of Special Forces as Green Beret and received many metals and his wings. He was a member of the NC Cattleman Association for most of his life and a member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church. 

Surviving is his devoted wife of 53 years, Janice Cagle Teachey; his son Bradley Teachey and wife Ashley of Efland, North Carolina; grandchildren, Daphne Teachey, Cora Teachey and Jasmine Gresens; brother, James Forest Teachey and wife Marcella of Wilmington; his canine companion Jax and numerous extended family and friends that loved Bobby dearly.

Bobby was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather, and brother.  He enjoyed the simplest things in life, but his greatest joy was family.  With an outgoing personality, Bobby never met a stranger.   He enjoyed life and was always the life of the party. Early in life and for 20 years, Bobby was employed as an insurance adjuster.   A lover of the outdoors, Bobby later became an avid cattle farmer.  He was a hard worker and great provider for his family.  Bobby will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
