Brenda Atkinson Beverage

     A kind and gentle soul, a gracious and loving lady, Brenda Atkinson Beverage,  entered eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born  March 31, 1926, in Johnston County, the daughter of Charlie Frederick Atkinson and Rosa Lee Glover Atkinson, living many years of her wonderful life in the small town of Burgaw.

     In addition to her parents Brenda was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Lee Denning, who died at a young age; her husband, L. P. “Bill” Beverage; stepson, Worth Beverage; grandson, William Beverage; sisters, Polly A. Barnes, Lila A. Weeks, and Esta A. Bailey; and half-brother, Velmon Atkinson.

     Brenda is survived by her daughter, Ronda Denning Darkus (John); son, Rick Denning (Evelyn); stepson, Robert Beverage; grandchildren, Brandon Denning (Laura), Mary Alice Denning Watts, Luther Beverage (Norma), and Jayson Beverage; granddaughter-in-law, Debbi Beverage; seven great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; many extended family and friends.

     All of Brenda’s life she was known for her wisdom, thoughtfulness, humility,  especially for her great devotion to her family, loyalty to her friends and faithful service to her Lord.

     Graveside funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Riverview Memorial Park with Chaplain Brandon Denning conducting the service. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the graveside service.
