Carolyn Gurganious Caison, 77, beloved wife, mother, Christian, and God’s faithful servant was called to her heavenly home by the Lord on May 22, 2021.
She was born August 24, 1943 in Wilmington, the daughter of Delphine Gurganious Piner and step-daughter of Herman Piner. In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Keith Caison.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald Ray Caison; son, Gregory Caison; stepson, Donald Ray Caison, Jr.; granddaughter, Tasha Caison; many extended families; and numerous friends including two special friends, Evelyn McCray and Emily Jones.
She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school many years.
Carolyn’s quiet faith and thankfulness for all blessings spoke clearly to her family and friends. She was a friend to many and a great listener. Most of all she was a dedicated wife and mama who always saw to the needs of her family. Carolyn was filled with kindness, gentleness, and a sweet, sweet spirit. Her presence in our family circle will surely be missed.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church with memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Gardner Eakins will conduct the service.
Donald and Gregory would like to extend a special thank you to Dangiel New, Heather Treece and the staff of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for the dedicated, loving care given to our Carolyn.
